The tragedy of Mustafa Soltani’s family, in the words of Ms. Mahleh ‌ Mustafa Soltani

ڕۆژانەی سەرکوت - تڕاژێدیای بنەماڵەیەک لە زمان خاتوو مەلەکە مستەفا سوڵتانی
-My name is Malakeh Mostafasolatani and I am from one of the small villages of Mariwan in Kurdistan of Iran.

-For as long as I remember, my family was a political activist, and they were fighting for workers‘ rights, women’s rights, and the freedom of Kurdistan; they never gave up on obtaining these rights.

-Before the Iranian Revolution, all my brothers were struggling for the freedom of the Kurds.

-After the Iranian Revolution, on August 19, 1979, Khomeini ordered an attack on Kurdistan’s cities to crush the Kurdish people fighting for their freedom; Mariwan was one of those cities.

-So many Political activists were arrested, and two of my brothers were among them. Their names were Hessain Mostafasoltani and Amin Mostafasoltani.

-Both of them were teachers, and they were a member of the Teachers Association who was fighting against oppression and dictatorship. They had an essential role to people aware of the injustice and cruelty of Regime.

-On August 25, 1979, Sadegh Khalkhali arrived in Mariwan; he was a judge of the Revolutionary Court and Khomeini’s envoy in Kurdistan. Khalkhali gave a letter to my father, and he mentioned that any problem would not happen in Mariwan, and no drop of blood falls on the ground. I made a few copies of that latter and distributed them among those families who had been arrested.

-On the same day, we could have a quick visit with my brothers. During our meeting, Amin told me that they are asking about Foad, he was one of our brothers, and he persisted in aware of Foad.

-Amin talked about one of their friends who was arrested with them, and he wanted me to call his mother and her aware of her son. That guy was a doctor, and his name was Bahman Asghari, and he was from Tehran. He came to Kurdistan to help people and fighting with Regime against injustice.

-From the place of detention contacted my father and asked for bond to release my brothers. When my father provided the bond, they made an excuse and did not release my brothers.

-For arresting innocent people, the Iranian Government used the dirtiest tricks, such as arresting them for robbery or apprehending their properties.

-I witnessed three innocent persons arrested by the Regime; two of them (Ahmad and Hessian Pirkhezranian) were arrested for a robbery that was entirely a lie, and the other one (Ahmad Ghaderzadeh) was trying to release his car, which apprehended by the Regime.

-On August 26, the day after Sadegh Khalkhali arrived in Mariwan, a few people arrested by the Regime on August 19, without any trials or courts, without a lawyer to defend themselves were shot and executed by the Islamic Republican of Iran.

-On that day, except for my brothers, seven more innocents were executed by the Regime: Dr. Bahman Asghari, Ahmad and Hessian Pirkhezranian, Ahmad Ghaderzadeh, Jalal Nasimi, Ali Dastani, and Faiegh Azizi.

-Another one of my brothers, Foad Mostafasoltani, was one of the establishments and the most critical person of the Komaleh Party; After he heard about his relatives on the way between Baneh and Mariwan, he was gotten an ambush by Regime’s mercenaries. In an unjust war, my brother and a few of his companions were killed by them.

-Therefore, on August 26 and September 1, 1979, three of my brothers were killed by the Islamic Republican of Iran.

-In February 1980, another one of my brothers, Majed Mostafasoltani, was arrested by the Regime, but he introduced himself with a false identity and never realized his real identity.

-In June 1981, another one of my brothers with my sister and a cousin went to Tabriz for medical treatments. They stayed in a friend’s house for a night. The Iranian mercenaries arrested my brother, Amjad Mostafasoltani, and two of his friends and transferred them to the Tabriz Central Prison.

-Amjad and Majed were students. Before and after the revolution, both were political activists. One month later, in July 1981, both were executed by the Regime.

-The Regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first day of getting power, starts killing and executing innocent people of this country, predominantly liberal and opposition people in Kurdistan. In this way, I lost five brothers who were executed by the Regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

-We have never forgiven this Regime and have never forgotten this Tragedy.
